FAQ

Common Questions
About Kitchen Remodeling
in Los Angeles, CA

Answers to the questions homeowners ask most before starting a kitchen remodel across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.

  1. 01

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Los Angeles?

    Answer

Layout changes, cabinetry and countertop selections, and appliance circuits are the biggest cost drivers. Keeping plumbing and gas where they are costs less than moving them, and custom cabinetry costs more than semi-custom. We provide a detailed written estimate after seeing the space, not a ballpark before.

  2. 02

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

    Answer

Most kitchen remodels run 6–16 weeks, depending on scope and material lead times. Custom cabinetry and stone fabrication are usually the longest-lead items, so we order them before demo starts — your kitchen isn't torn out while you wait on them.

  3. 03

Do I need to move out during a kitchen remodel?

    Answer

Most homeowners don't, though you'll be without a working kitchen for part of the project. We walk through what to expect for your layout during planning, including when water and power will be off.

  4. 04

Can you move plumbing or gas lines for a new layout?

    Answer

Yes. Relocating a sink, dishwasher, or range often means moving plumbing or gas lines, which we handle under our own C-36 license as part of the remodel.

  5. 05

Do I need a permit for a kitchen remodel?

    Answer

If the remodel adds or moves electrical circuits, plumbing, gas lines, or walls, yes. Replacing cabinets and counters in the same layout may not need one. We confirm what your project requires during the estimate and manage the permit when it's needed.

  6. 06

What if you find outdated wiring or plumbing once the cabinets come out?

    Answer

We stop and walk you through what we found, plus the cost and schedule impact, before proceeding. Older Los Angeles-area homes often have outdated wiring or galvanized plumbing behind cabinets that isn't visible until demolition starts.
